We all need a little extra training! These training days are weapon specific and are designed to improve your footwork, blade skills and your tactical knowledge. The general format is: 

Warm up and stretch
Group footwork
Blade skills
Tactical bladework
Distance and timing exercises
Controlled fight training & Individual lessons
Warm down

Every fencer will receive a short individual lesson.

Anybody is welcome to come on these training days. The numbers are restricted to 12 places in order to make sure everyone receives quality attention from the coach. First come first served, so pay well in advance to guarantee your place.

Venue:

Stirling Miners Social Club, Burghmuir Road, Stirling. FK7 7XN

Times:

Saturdays      11am to 5pm (except 12th Feb 2005 12:30pm to 6:30pm)
Sundays        12:30pm to 6:30pm

Cost:

£18.00 per person.

Bring:

Full steam kit, water bottle and a towel. I can provide equipment free of charge. Please e-mail me to arrange it.

Lunch:

Please bring a packed lunch. Alternatively, there are plenty of shops locally.

Accommodation:

For those travelling from far away, free accommodation can be provided in Glasgow. Bring a sleeping bag.

Directions:

 

Public transport:            The venue is 5 mins walk from Stirling Train Station and 2 mins from Stirling Bus Station. Turn left out of either and walk to the big roundabout. The venue is on the   roundabout at the right hand side. 

Directions by car:         

From the South:            Take either M80 or M9 to Stirling. Exit at first sign post for Stirling and you will reach a big roundabout (Services). Take the exit for Stirling. Drive straight on at the next two roundabouts. The venue is on your left at the next roundabout ( a big one with the Thistle Shopping Centre in front of you).

From the North:            Take M9 and exit at J10. Go straight on onto the A84. At the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit (A9) passing the train station. At the next roundabout, go straight on (through underpass). Venue is at the next roundabout. Turn right.

 Parking:                        When you reach the roundabout that the Stirling Miners Social Club is on, take the exit just after the Club and turn left to go behind it. There is a public car park behind the venue. Cost is £1.80 for a full day on Saturday. Parking is free on Sunday.
